Router

Router is a networking hardware device designed to receive, analyse and move incoming packets to another network or device. In other words, a router receives and sends data on computer networks. Routers are sometimes confused with network hubs, modems, or network switches. However, routers can combine the functions of these components, and connect with these devices.

How does a router work?

As its name implies, it "routes" traffic between the devices and the internet. Routers guide and direct network data, using packets that contain various kinds of data—such as files, communications, and simple transmissions like web interactions.
